Year 3 have been completing an art unit based on Fruit & Vegetables. Throughout the unit, they have used a range or resources and techniques.
To start the unit, the children looked closely at peppers. They created images using charcoal then used clay to sculpt a cross section of a pepper. They used their hands and sculpting tools to create their final piece.
They then focused on the textures of a range of fruit and vegetables and how these could be shown through the use of coloured pencils. The pupils started by creating real life drawing. Then they used their new skills to create art in the style of Carl Warner and Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
Finally, they looked at the art work of Caravaggio and created fruit bowl images using paint. As their final piece, pupils created a mixed media collage using a range of fabrics and paint.
