Welcome to our Design and Technology Blog
The DT curriculum at Monkwray Junior School covers the statutory requirements and is planned in a way so that children can complete various design projects in each year group building on their previous skills. The children follow a design process of a design brief, research, prototypes, practising skills before and making and evaluating their product.
Each year group has the opportunity to complete a food based product to develop a deeper understanding of a healthy lifestyle and build key life skills for later life.
We work closely with the Cumbria Business Partnership and where possible try to make links with local businesses and different industries. Links are also made with Maths and Science where possible and children are given the opportunity to transfer their skills and understanding to real life projects.

In Design and Technology we can:
