Welcome to Year 3
Hello and welcome to our Class 1 page. My name is Mrs Hodgson and I am the class teacher in class 1 which is home to our year 3 pupils. I have taught in year 3 now for many years and I know exactly how to settle our newest pupils in to school. I am in charge of reading across school and aim to embed a love of reading from the day that our year 3’s step foot through the door. Story time is my favourite time of every school day!
I always find it hard to talk about my favourite subjects in school because I love all of them! The best part of any subject is watching children ‘click’ when they finally understand something that they hadn’t previously. The learning journey of every child is always a pleasure to be a part of. It may not always be easy but in year 3 we don’t call them mistakes, we call them learning opportunities and the children flourish through a heightened sense of confidence when they are not afraid of failure.
My own personal interests are reading, going on long walks, listening to music and spending time with my own family. I love to give our year 3’s the opportunity to have experiences where they can find their own personal interests and throughout year 3 we do lots of fun things to help them find activities, sports and subjects that they enjoy and make them happy. This page will be the perfect place to catch up on all of the wonderful opportunities our year 3’s are given.
Together with our teaching assistant, Miss Armstrong and school SENCo, Mrs Lamb, we work quickly to make sure every year 3 is engaged with their learning and receiving the correct level of support they need to succeed across the curriculum.
Have fun exploring all of the wonderful things we get up to in year 3!
